Never heard of a plug coming loose because of oil working down the threads.
I would be inclined to cheque that torque figure against your Savage manual - I would be more inclined to increase the torque and see if that holds the plug better - the other check would be to insure that the plug crush washer is not totally crushed - if it is flattened at all - change it
